Myrrh Essential Oil is obtained from Commiphara myrrha, a tree which is native to the Middle East, Somalia, and Ethiopia. It has a distinctive, subtle odour, which has the slightest hint of liquorice-like warm softness. Apart from the animal notes, Myrrh rates as one of the best fixatives available to the perfumer.
